EVENT MAP & DIRECTIONS

Directions

America Festival weekend events take place at Discovery Meadow in downtown San Jose, located at the southeast corner of West San Carlos Street and Woz Way. For maps and driving directions, click here to go to Google Maps.

We highly recommend taking public transportation to the event.  You will get in and out quicker, and not get stuck in a parking garage while trying to leave with 600 other cars.

Public Transportation

Discovery Meadow is easily accessible by VTA's light rail and bus lines. On July 5&6, the Children's Discovery Museum Light Rail Station is open and adjacent to the Festival grounds.  On July 4, due to proximity to the fireworks setup, this station is closed, but Light Rail riders can use the Convention Center station and walk 1 block west on San Carlos Street to Discovery Meadow.  For light rail and bus maps, fares and schedules, visit VTA's website.

CalTrain or BART can also get you there, but not directly. You will need to transfer to a local VTA line to get directly to the festival grounds.
There are 3 CalTrain stations connected directly to VTA Light Rail: San Jose Diridon, Tamien and Mountain View. Discovery Meadow can also be walking distance from the San Jose Diridon station (less than 1 mile). Please view the CalTrain and VTA websites for schedule and fare information.

VTA also has San Jose busses that connect at the Fremont BART Station. For route, schedule and fare information, please visit the BART and VTA websites.

Parking

There are several parking lots open to the public in downtown San Jose. Please visit the San Jose Downtown Association for a map of parking lots. Please note: The Woz/87 lot will be closed on July 4 due to proximity to the fireworks setup.

Bicycles

All bicycles must be locked outside the park. Only on-duty police officers and park rangers will be allowed to bring bicycles onto the Festival grounds. Please do not block sidewalks or gates, and NEVER lock your bike to a temporary fence.
